How to Set Up Event Reminders

Learn how to set up automatic email reminders for upcoming classes and events, either as a default for all events, or on a per-event basis.

Written by Dhwani S

Classcard can automatically send reminder emails to students before an upcoming class or event. You can set a default reminder that applies to all events, or configure a reminder for a specific event individually.

Set a Default Reminder (All Events)

A default reminder can be sent automatically for every upcoming event without needing to configure it each time.

To set a default reminder for all events:

  1. Go to Settings and click on Email Alerts.

  2. Under the Student tab, scroll down to the Calendar section.

  3. Toggle on Upcoming event reminder.

  4. Click on 1 default reminder set to open the reminder settings.

  5. In the Default reminder alert pop-up, select the default time from the Reminder dropdown (e.g. 1 hour before, 1 day before). You can click + Add reminder to set multiple reminder times.

  6. Click Save.

Set a Reminder for a Specific Event

You can also set a reminder on a per-event basis when creating a new class on the Calendar. This reminder applies to that event only and overrides the default reminder.

To set a reminder for a specific event:

  1. When creating or editing an event on the Calendar, scroll down to the Reminder section.

  2. Select a time from the Select reminder dropdown, or click + Add reminder to add multiple reminders for that event.

  3. Click Save.

💡 A per-event reminder only applies to that specific class. For reminders across all events, set a default reminder in Settings > Email Alerts.
