Skill tracks let you organise skills into structured levels that students progress through. This article explains how to create a skill track, add levels, and assign skills to each level.

Step 1: Add a Skill Track

  1. Navigate to the Gradebook main menu on the left side of your screen.

  2. Head to Setup > Skill tracks.

  3. Click on Add new track on the top left.

  4. Fill in the details in the Add skill track pop-up. Enter the Track name and select Subject categories and Default grade scale from the drop-down menus.

  5. Then, click on Save skill track.

The new skill track will appear in your list of ‘All skill tracks’.

Step 2: Add Levels to the Track

  1. Click on the skill track you just created.

  2. Click Add new on the top left and select Level.

  3. On the pop-up, click on + Add level. Enter the level name and from the drop-down, select the colour in which you want the level to be represented. Repeat to add as many levels as needed.

💡 You can toggle on Promote automatically to automatically advance students to the next level once they complete all skills in the current one.

Step 3: Add Skills to Each Level

  1. Inside the skill track, click on + Add Skills.

  2. On the pop-up, enter the Skill name and from the drop-down menu, select the Level within which the skill would fall. (You can click on the Manage button to add a new level). Click on Save.

  3. Repeat for each skill you want to add under a particular level.

You can view your skills in List view (all skills in a flat list) or Grouped view (skills grouped by level). Toggle between them using the view options at the top, on the right.

Managing Levels and Skills

Under the Grouped view, you can click the three-dots menu (⋮) on any level to:

  • Add a skill directly to that level

  • Edit the level name or details

  • Delete the level

Once your skill tracks are set up, you can start assigning grades against these skills from the Gradebook.
