Connect your academy's WhatsApp Business account to Classcard to send updates, reminders, and templates directly to students and parents through Classcard chat.
Connect Your WhatsApp Account
On the Classcard dashboard, navigate to the Integrations menu on the bottom left side of your screen.
On the All Integrations page, locate Whatsapp. You can also find it under the Communication tab.
Click on Add an account. A Facebook login window will open. Log in with your Facebook Business credentials and click Continue.
Select your Business portfolio and WhatsApp Business account from the dropdown menus.
Add your WhatsApp phone number and complete the verification process.
Once connected, your WhatsApp account will appear under the "WhatsApp account" section on the integration page.
π‘ You must have a Meta Business account and a WhatsApp Business account to complete this setup. If you don't have one yet, you can create it during the connection flow.
Set Up Message Templates
Message templates are pre-approved messages used for WhatsApp alerts, starting new conversations, or messaging after the 24-hour response window has passed.
To add a template:
On the WhatsApp integration page on the Classcard dashboard, head to the Message templates section.
Click Add a template.
Choose from the default templates available, or create your own custom template.
π‘ WhatsApp requires templates to be pre-approved by Meta before they can be used. Default templates provided by Classcard are already approved and ready to use.
Troubleshooting
"WhatsApp connection was cancelled" error
This message appears if the Facebook login flow was interrupted or closed before completing. Try clicking Add an account again and complete all steps without closing the pop-up window.
Can I connect multiple WhatsApp numbers?
Each Classcard academy can connect one WhatsApp Business account at a time.
