Stripe is an online payment processing software for internet businesses. Connect your Stripe account to Classcard to accept online payments.
Integrate the Stripe payment gateway with your Classcard account by following these steps:
Step 1: Get your API keys from Stripe
Log in to your Stripe account.
On the dashboard, use the search bar at the top and type API keys.
Select Developers > API keys from the options that appear in the dropdown.
You will land on the API keys tab under the Developers section.
Publishable key
Your Publishable key is visible directly on this page under Standard keys. Copy it by clicking on the key.
Secret key
Stripe no longer shows your Secret key directly. To generate one:
Click + Create secret key
On the sidebar, select Powering an integration you’ve built.
Give it a name - for example, you could name it Classcard. Click Create.
Copy the full key immediately, you won’t be able to view it again.
⚠️ Important: Do not create a Restricted key. Classcard requires a standard secret key to function correctly.
Step 2: Add your keys to Classcard
In Classcard, navigate to Integrations > Payments > Stripe.
Paste your Secret key in the 'Secret key' field.
Paste your Publishable key in the 'Published key' field.
Click on Connect.
💡 Pro tip: If you’d like members to pay at the time of booking, go to Online Bookings > Settings > Preferences and disable Book now and pay later.
💡 Refunds: When you issue a refund via the Classcard dashboard, it is automatically processed on Stripe as well. You do not need to issue the refund separately on Stripe. Learn how to issue a refund on Classcard.
